Cash Flow Forecast & Budget Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026 · Applies to the Android app com.forecastmycashflow.app
What this app is
Cash Flow Forecast & Budget presents the calculator from forecastmycashflow.com inside an app, and adds two things a website cannot do on its own: a home-screen widget and reminders before an entry falls due.
Because the calculator itself is the website, the website privacy policy also applies while you use the app. This page describes what the app additionally does on your device.
Your financial entries stay on your device
The income and expenses you enter are stored on your device and are not uploaded to our servers. There are no accounts and no sign-in, and we operate no server that holds your forecast. We cannot see your figures, and we cannot recover them for you if the app is uninstalled or its data is cleared.
To show the widget and send reminders, the app keeps its own copy of some of that information in private app storage on the device:
- Entries that have a date, including the name, amount and currency you typed, so a reminder can say what is due and when
- The totals and projected balance the calculator displayed, as text, so the widget can show them without opening the app
- A record of which reminders have already been sent, so the same one is not repeated
- Whether the one-time Pro unlock has been purchased, and a count of how many times the app has been opened successfully, which paces the rating and Pro prompts
None of this is transmitted anywhere. It is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data.
Not included in backups
The app disables Android backup, and excludes its data from both cloud backup and device-to-device transfer. Nothing it stores is copied to Google's backup servers or moved to a new phone. If you export a backup file yourself from the calculator, that file contains your entries in plain text and is yours to store; a file saved to a cloud drive is subject to that provider's practices.
Notifications
Reminders are produced on your device from the entries already stored there. No notification is sent from a server, and nothing about your entries leaves the device to generate one. Android asks for notification permission only when there is actually something to remind you about, and you can revoke it at any time in system settings, which stops reminders entirely.
Optional usage analytics
The calculator can record anonymous usage analytics, and asks before it does. It is off unless you accept, your choice is stored on the device, and declining is a complete answer — the calculator works the same either way.
When it is enabled and configured, Cloudflare or Vercel Web Analytics may process page views and technical information such as browser type and approximate location. What the app sends beyond page views is a short, fixed list of named actions — for example that a forecast was created or a file was exported. Your entry names, amounts, currencies and balances are never included. Hosting and security providers may separately keep request logs, including IP addresses, in order to serve and protect the site.
No advertising
The app shows no adverts and contains no advertising or ad-targeting software. No advertising identifier is collected or shared.
Purchases
Pro is a single one-time purchase that unlocks the widget and reminders. It is sold through Google Play, and Google handles the payment: we never see or receive your card or billing details. The app asks Google Play whether this account owns the unlock and stores only that yes-or-no answer on the device. Your purchase is handled under Google's privacy policy.
Ratings
After the app has been used a few times it may show Google Play's own rating prompt. That prompt is provided and displayed by Google Play, not by us; we receive no personal information from it and cannot tell whether you rated the app.
Permissions the app requests
- Internet and network state — to load the calculator, to fetch current exchange rates if you use them, and to tell whether you are offline so your saved forecast can be shown instead
- Notifications — only to deliver the reminders described above
- Billing — to offer the Pro purchase through Google Play
- Run at startup, wake lock and foreground service — required by the Android scheduler the daily reminder check runs on, so that the check survives a restart. They are not used for anything else, and none of them grants access to your content
The app does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts or access to your files, and it does not read anything on your device outside its own storage. Files you export are written only where you choose to save them.
Children
This app is a general-purpose budgeting tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Not financial advice
The app is for personal budgeting and educational purposes. It does not provide financial, investment, tax or legal advice.
Your choices
- Delete everything the app holds by clearing its data or uninstalling it
- Decline, or later clear, analytics consent from within the calculator
- Revoke notification permission in system settings to stop reminders
- Export your forecast at any time to keep your own copy
